Practical climate protection

Practical climate protection

The food family is leading the way in climate protection. Since 2013, we have initiated reforestation projects in Tanzania to offset our CO2 emissions. At the same time, we support local landowners who plant an average of 70,000 trees per season on their land on our behalf. In this way, we have succeeded for three years in offsetting our yearly CO2 emissions caused by staff mobility and production. After 15 years of growth, the owners are allowed to cut down the trees and sell the wood. To date, over 300,000 trees have been planted in this way and around 21,000 tonnes of CO2 offset. In short: the food family relieves the environment and creates income for local landowners.
