ERBACHER the food family

Company formation:
In Weilbach in Lower Franconia, Joseph and Pauline Erbacher found a production plant for feed lime. This laid the foundation stone for the company JOSERA – whose name goes back to the initials of
JOSef ERbacher Agrar. The company expands continuously and in 1980 the company moves to its current premises in Kleinheubach – where, in addition to a new agricultural production facility, a laboratory, a technical centre and an office building are also built.

Foundation:
The Erbacher Stiftung was established in 1989 as a non-profit foundation. It supports development projects in rural regions of the focus countries Tanzania, Uganda and India. The aim is to improve the living conditions of the local rural population. The focus is on projects to promote livestock farming, crop cultivation and drinking water supplies, as well as environmental and climate protection. Since its foundation, around 650 development projects have been supported. In this way, aid has reached around 650,000 people.

Expansion into Poland:
Exports to Poland and other Eastern European countries have grown strongly over the years. JOSERA reacts to the increasing demand and founds the company JOSERA POLSKA. In 2008, another milestone is set with the construction of a state-of-the-art mineral feed plant in Nowy Tomyśl, Poland. The new plant produces mineral feed of the highest quality. This is continuously controlled and ensured by the company’s own laboratory.

The food famliy is climate-neutral
Since its foundation almost 80 years ago, the company has taken real responsibility for the environment. Since 2020, the food family has completely managed to make the entire production climate-neutral. Unnecessary CO2 emissions are avoided, for example, through self-designed energy systems. Furthermore, smart logistics, regional sourcing and green electricity reduce CO2 emissions. The unavoidable emissions are compensated by partner forest conservation projects in Tanzania. This along with many other numerous building blocks are the key nuts and bolts with which the food famliy achieves its ambitious sustainability strategy.
