Life in the country

The non-profit Erbacher Stiftung was founded in 1989. It supports development projects in rural regions of Tanzania, Uganda and India. The aim is to give rural life a new perspective. The focus is on projects for livestock farming, crop cultivation, water supply, environmental and climate protection, and also the empowerment of disadvantaged women.
The support is mainly of a financial nature – however increasingly, there is also technical exchange between project partners in the funding regions and experts from the food family.
The foundation works together with selected denominational and independent development partners who oversee projects in the funding regions. A six-member foundation board – consisting of members of the founding family, food family employees and external experts – decides on the allocation of funding.
Since its foundation, around 650 development projects have been supported with 65 partners. In this way, aid has reached around 650,000 people.
