We carry out local projects
in East Africa
The ERBACHER Foundation is a non-profit, public-benefit foundation under civil law. Its work focuses on development cooperation, science and research, and environmental and nature conservation – particularly through projects in the Global South that support the nutrition of both people and animals.
For more than 35 years, the foundation has pursued the goal of building and securing sustainable, future-proof livelihoods together with partners from the food sector. In doing so, it contributes to food systems that are aligned with both local and global needs.

With the Yettu Fresh Network project, the ERBACHER Foundation is committed to developing future-oriented production and distribution structures for high-quality food in Tanzania. The aim is to strengthen local value creation by purposefully promoting regional products, businesses, and skills – creating sustainable economic perspectives on the ground.

A particular focus lies on supporting women entrepreneurs involved in daily food supply. By building a strong network of women, the project fosters mutual support, knowledge sharing through trainings and workshops, and strengthens social participation and personal agency.
Already, 18 dedicated Tanzanian women entrepreneurs – selected from numerous applications – are part of this emerging network. They contribute their ideas, develop their businesses, and demonstrate the great potential of regional foods and female entrepreneurship.
This project thrives on the power, passion, and energy of its participants – and on people who want to make a difference together. Anyone joining this initiative works at the intersection of sustainable development, entrepreneurship, and social impact – actively shaping positive change in Tanzania.
