For the sake of the environment and economic efficiency, the food family consistently focuses on energy efficiency. The best example of this is our modern combined heat and power unit, which supplies our pet food plant with electricity. The gas-powered plant works according to the principle of combined heat and power and has an outstanding primary energy utilisation value of 80 percent. This makes the energy from our combined heat and power plant more environmentally friendly and economically more attractive than purchased electricity. At the same time, we can use the waste heat generated during electricity production by using it to generate steam for our production process, for croquette drying and also for our building heating. In short: A smart factory needs smart energy management – which makes sense: economically and for the environment.
